Starting at Buttermere village we walk down to the lake to photograph the view towards Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks.

We then walk around the lake (the direction we walk depends on the conditions) with stops at many key points, including Sourmilk Gill, the woodlands, Comb Beck, Peggy’s Bridge, the tunnel, the view of the pines and the famous Buttermere tree.

Terrain: Mostly a good path, with a small area where it is a rocky path and steps.
